Dr. Ranjanidevi Saravanan is the founder of Devi Veenai™ and a passionate artist dedicated to making the timeless tradition of the Saraswathi Veena accessible to a global audience.
A lifelong pursuit of musical excellence began in her childhood, where her parents were music lovers and her favorite genre was devotional songs. This passion led her to earn a B. Music and M. Music from Queen Mary’s College, Chennai. She completed a teacher training program from Tamil University and earned her Ph.D. in Music from Bharathidasan University, where her doctoral research focused on the intricate art of Veena-making.

✨ The modern Saraswathi Veena was perfected in the 18th century by Govinda Dikshitar and Raghunatha Nayak in Thanjavur.
They introduced 24 frets, enabling a two-octave range on a single string.
